Despite its beauty, Rodrigues hasn’t become a popular area due to its reduced size and lack of commercial exploitation. This way, this area maintains the same natural characteristics it had years ago and remains almost unchanged. Therefore, this place contains a wild beauty which divers could hardly find at other diving destinations.
Usually, many diving areas which receive an important amount of visitors do not maintain their natural characteristics due to this interaction. These areas often receive visitors who are willing to touch what they see and take something from the sea as a souvenir and this way they change the general structure which sometimes changes dramatically as time passes by and the sum of visitors produce their effect on the landscape.
One of the main attractions divers would find when visiting Rodrigues is its coral reef. Rodrigues’ coral reef is extremely beautiful due to its almost untouched natural characteristics and the way in which corals have developed without human interference. Although there are other very interesting diving areas to explore, this reef is one of the main places which divers who go to Rodrigues should visit.
Rodrigues’ weather varies depending on seasons. Year around, water temperature is of about 25 degrees, reaching the 30 degrees between October and January and 23 degrees in August. Divers who visit Rodrigues between October and January could enjoy not only the warmest water temperature of the year but also a great underwater visibility as well as quiet waters full of big size sea mammals such as, for example, whales of different types.
Those divers who visit Rodrigues during February could enjoy of very nice climate conditions but should be aware of the fact that this month is when the cyclones season starts and when the chances for one to happen are the biggest. Between March and May cyclones season ends and the windiest season begins. Between June and July divers could experience some strong winds although the decrease towards July as well as water temperature starts to rise. It is important for divers to know that during August Rodrigues’ Diving Center is usually closed.

Herbs have long been an acceptable way to fight common ailments and while they should not take the place of medical advice, can be a great supplement to your current medical care. There are many common herbs that have healing properties which you may not even know about.
Some of the herbs like garlic, parsley, rosemary and cayenne you may associate more with cooking, but these plants also have medicinal properties that you can easily put to use by using them in teas, compresses and even as spices in your meals!
Some common healing herbs include:
Aloe Vera
The gel within this plant is reputed to heal wounds and other skin problems such as sunburn. It is also a strong laxative. The plant can be grown in your garden in tropical climates or on your window sill. Slit open the leaves and use the juice inside.
Cayenne
Cayenne is great for the circulation and it’s no wonder with it’s spicy bite! You can use it in your food, or if you are really brave, in a tea. You can also take it in a capsule. It is said that Cayenne will help to expedite the healing effects of other herbs.
Chamomile
This herb has many uses. In a tea, it has a relaxing effect and can sooth the digestive system. It is also excellent for the skin when applied topically in a cream or lotion. Many herbal soaps, shampoos and lotions include this herb which has been used since ancient times.
Echinacea
This much publicized herb can help stabilize the immune system. It can be taken as a pill or tincture or pulled out of the ground an eaten as a snack! You may have some of these purple daisy like flowers growing near you and not even realize that they have medicinal properties.
Garlic
You thought it was just a tasty root to put on bread but this herb has been used since ancient Egypt and has properties that strengthen the immune system. It is used as a treatment for infections, coughs and colds.
Ginger
Our herb guide likes ginger as it can be used in so many dishes. It is reputed to aid in circulation.
Parsley
Rich in potassium, this herb is often used as a garnish and left uneaten. I suggest you put it right in your salad and eat it up - it has many vitamins and is reputed to strengthen the kidneys and help with waste removal.
Rosemary
This herb stimulates circulation and aids in memory.
St. John’s Wort
No herb guide would be complete without mention of this herb which is used to treat mild depression and elevate mood.

Business is sometimes made on the tees. In America, golf is unofficially the sports emblem of business. According to pundits, business decisions are made on the golf course, not the boardroom.
Playing golf is not out of place in business, any more than a job interview or sales meeting. On a golf course, company bigwigs get to discuss anything convivially and privately, unlike in the NBA Playoffs. On a golf course, someone can business network his or her way towards a client. Not only does a close encounter with clients at the greens close a deal, but it can also establish a longstanding connection with them. Ultimately, golf is a microcosm of the business realm.
Business golf lets peers, bosses and customers in on the player’s character. For what it’s worth, golf tips off how its players may behave in the boardroom or the bargaining table. The boss may not be crazy about that swing, but they will surely monitor one’s behavior and appearance.
There’s an art to the corporate golf event, which can leave its participants intimidated. In this case, trying hard to impress would only exert unnecessary pressure on the player.
Etiquette is everything in business golf, taking as much precedence as knowing how to play the game itself. Before hitting the greens, players should be properly and conservatively dressed.
Golf has it that other players should shut their mouths when someone is hitting. Players shouldn’t also step in the way of the putt, and give unsolicited advice to struggling players. Above all, cheating is almost criminal.
Since the game could get fussy, players may be tempted to blow their tops off. Losing temper speaks volumes about one’s character so it’s time to shelve the inner grouch.

Manhattan is the heartbeat of New York City and has become one and the same with the city as a whole. The island of Manhattan itself is home to Times Square, as well as a number of artistic and cultural focal points. The Island of Manhattan can be roughly broken up into Downtown, Midtown and Uptown areas, each of which feature a number of outstanding points of interest.
Positioned to the south of 14th Street, Downtown Manhattan is the setting of the Financial District which runs along Wall Street, including the rebuilt World Trade Center and Battery Park, from which you can reach the Statue of Liberty by ferryboat. Numerous admired cultural areas downtown, including Greenwich Village Tribeca and Soho feature significant architecture, trendy dining and plenty of shopping. Another popular target downtown is Manhattan, which runs along Canal Street.
Midtown is positioned between 14th Street and Central Park, and is home to a major arts scene. The center|core|axis|hub|heart} of arts life in the metropolitan area is the Theater District which encompasses Broadway, Times Square and Hell’s Kitchen, as well as the Madame Tussaud’s. The Midtown area is a convenient location for visitors to stay as there are various hotels in New York in the section. Other popular areas include Gramercy Flat Iron, a hip residential district, as well as the fashion obsessed Chelsea District.
Large amounts of real estate controlled by Central Park, Upper Manhattan the location of the Tisch Children’s Zoo, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and several museums throughout the Upper East and West side. Furthermore, the district is the location of Columbia University in Morningside Heights, the significant Harlem neighborhood and Washington Heights.
Every one of Manhattan’s distinctive districts maintain their own sense of history, as well as trendy points of interest from top-notch arts to eats. A visit to New York is not complete without a extensive tour of Manhattan’s best spots. There is an excellent reason that Manhattan has come to characterize the public face of the city. Manhattan is one of the world’s greatest cultural capitals and continues to set the standard in commercial and metropolitan trends.
Other articles in this series looked at a number of exercises, mainly from the perspective of developing a comprehensive muscle building program. Sometimes we take things for granted, especially when it comes to performing the basic exercises that constitute the core of most bodybuilders’ training regimes.
It is useful, therefore, to describe in detail the processes involved in actually doing these exercises. This will help beginners to start out using the correct techniques before moving on to potentially more dangerous heavy weights. If it also helps more experienced lifters to redress some of the little faults that have almost imperceptibly crept in over the years, all the better.
In this article we’ll take a close look at the leg press.
MUSCLES TARGETED: vastus lateralis, vastus intermedius, vastus medialis, rectus femoris
STARTING POSITION
Lie on leg press machine with buttocks supported on seat and back pressed against the back rest pad.
Place feet flat on the platform, shoulder width apart. Angle toes slightly outwards.
Grip handles and unlock weight in readiness for performance of the leg press.
EXERCISE TECHNIQUE
Slowly bend legs, allowing knees to move towards the chest.
When the knees have reached a point just beyond 90 degrees, slowly straighten the legs until you return to the starting position.
Do not lock your knees at the highest point of the movement.
Repeat this movement until you reach your target number of repetitions
OTHER EXERCISES WORTH CONSIDERING
Other exercises that tackle these muscles include the Squat, Hack Squats, Smith Machine Squats and Seated Leg Extensions.

Bedtime is probably the most difficult time for most parents with healthy children. It is especially difficult for my close friend and her daughter because her little girl has autism. She has called me at midnight or later to come help her with her little girl at bedtime. The little girl’s name is Josie, and she is 6 years old now. For some reason, I am the only person she relates with. I do not know if it is because I am around a lot, or if it may be because my friend, Terri, her mother, deals with the challenges everyday, and is stressed. Perhaps it is a combination of the two. I am less stressed since I am not there 24/7. I am a fresh person, calm, and I read to her. Josie loves Winnie the Pooh. We have a lot of fun, and her relationship with her mother has gotten much better. Terri attributes that to me helping for all these years. Terri says she has learned by watching me how to relate to her in a better way.
Our bodies react differently to the foods we eat. Some people do better with higher protein foods, and others are better with higher carbohydrates. My cousin, Tim, who has adult autism is on a high carbohydrate diet. It seems his body handles the carbohydrates better, thus making his life less challenging. I remember when they first put him on this diet, and took his cookies away from him. He couldn’t have fat, or too much sugar, so his carbohydrates are good carbohydrates . During the first few weeks, my aunt faced many challenges, and problems with his change in diet. She had to keep her eye on him almost 24/7. He would wake up in the middle of the night (he never has slept well) and go right to the refrigerator for a sweet snack. He had been gaining unhealthy weight, and had been acting out a lot. He now is used to his new diet plan, and he is much more responsive than ever.
